Easy Tequila Lime Chicken Recipe
Easy Tequila Lime Chicken Recipe ===== https://blltly.com/2t8gDt
Tequila Lime Chicken bursting with flavor from the tasty margarita style marinade made with tequila, fresh lime juice, cilantro and spices. This grilled chicken recipe is easy to make (I even share my time-saving shortcut) and is always a crowd favorite. Budget friendly too (chop it up and make lots of tacos!)
Tequila Lime Chicken is a great recipe with big citrus flavor made with an easy to make tequila lime marinade. The chicken is then grilled until tender, juicy and perfectly charred with brown grill marks.
This Mexican inspired Tequila Lime chicken goes well with so many side dishes and salads. I love serving it with this creamy coleslaw recipe or this tasty and nutritious three bean salad. This decadent and creamy rice casserole pairs beautifully with the light grilled lime chicken.
One of my favorite things about this grilled chicken recipe (besides its taste), is that you can feed a large crowd for very little. Simply chop up the chicken into small bite size pieces and set up a taco bar!
Reheating: You can reheat leftover tequila lime chicken in the microwave at 60% power in small intervals until heated through or in a skillet, covered over low heat, until heated through. I like to flip the chicken a few times so it warms evenly. You may want to add a couple of tablespoons of chicken broth in the pan to keep the chicken very moist.
Love the recipe cuz I love Margaritas. Just had a problem with not using a grill. Used a grill pan for the oven, but consulted someone on Google for how long to cook and at what temperature. The marinade was wonderful. Used some good Tequila, but the chicken turned out dry. Guess I cooked it too long 40 minutes at 375°. Probably should have used a meat thermometer, also. Was in a hurry to make dinner, as usual. Live and learn. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us!
This was delicious and easy just as is. Took a little longer than 2-3 minutes per side for me. Might not have had the grill hot enough or chicken pounded thin enough. Also great with black bean avocado corn salad, which again was perfect as is, though I did half the recipe. I have never had a recipe fail from your website. Thank you as always.
Alcohol adds depth and great aroma to food; as alcohol evaporates during the cooking process, it lends a nice nuance to the overall dish. It is subtle but it makes everything better, such as this tequila lime chicken.
I replaced the tequila with fresh squeezed juice from an orange and also included lime peel strips in the individual sous vide bags I prepared for the chicken breasts. After cooking in the sous vide bag to 150°, I returned the bag to the fridge to let the chicken set. After cooling, I cut the chicken into strips and used them as part of skillet fajitas. I also dice the chicken and use as a salad protein. The flavor is amazing!
Since the chicken has to marinate for at least 30 minutes, this is sort of a slight make-ahead recipe, but you can have the chicken marinating for up to 8 hours if you want to make it more in advance.
The toppings for this recipe are fairly versatile and you don't have to use exactly what I used. I almost always have a tub of fresh salsa or pico de gallo in the fridge because I usually have leftover chicken on hand and I like to be able to have healthy tacos on a whim.
I guess you could say I eat a lot of Mexican-inspired dishes at home, and that's because they're so healthy while still remaining really flavourful. Having delicious salsas, hot sauces, tortilla strips and hot peppers at home can really help you spice up a dish like this tequila lime chicken in a flash.
Yes, it's a very freezer-friendly dish! This tequila lime chicken will last in the fridge for up to 3 months. If you plan to freeze this recipe, make sure that it's completely cool before placing it into airtight glass containers. Otherwise, you're risking the chance of condensation forming inside the container. That can cause freezer burn to form, which is not a tasty result.
A good marinade recipe is always a handy thing to have in your back pocket. You can use it for all sorts of meals like tacos, enchiladas, salads or even pasta. I created this tequila lime chicken marinade on a whim and just by staring at the choice of spices in my kitchen and rolling with whatever sounded good. Luckily the whole marinade came together perfectly and with a little help of some tequila and lime juice just to get the spices in every part of the chicken.
Chicken is such a great protein for marinades. You can really play around with flavors to transform a plain piece of meat into something out of this world. While I love the taste of BBQ, sometimes I need something a little more refreshing and light. This tequila lime chicken did just that. With a little zing from the tequila, zestiness of the lime and sweetness of agave, this dish is the perfect summer recipe.
How to make the tequila lime marinade. The refreshing taste of the marinade is the perfect combination for a great summer chicken dinner! For this recipe, I did use alcohol. It is safe to serve this meal to children as the alcohol content will cook off in the high temps.
In a mixing bowl, pour in your tequila of choice. I used Teremana Tequila Blanco by Dwayne Johnson because, well, I like him and the tequila is actually pretty good. Next, add in agave syrup, freshly squeezed lime juice, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, Mexican oregano, paprika, salt and pepper. Chop up some cilantro and mix all the ingredients together.
Once the tequila lime chicken thighs reach their cooked temperature, remove them from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes. Before serving, pour some of that amazingly delicious sweet and zesty tequila sauce and enjoy!
Once the chicken is ready, you can head over to the table that is lined with crisp tortilla chips, fresh mahi mahi tacos, and a light, refreshing citrus and avocado salad. Top your plate with tequila-lime chicken, a steaming pile of fluffy lime cilantro rice, and a huge dollop of guacamole.
Forget the over dry and tasteless Mexican style chicken, my Baked Tequila Lime Chicken is not only super easy but is loaded with flavor and bursting with juices! Plus while it is marinade recommended it is not necessary making this chicken the perfect quick dinner meal!
While the chicken rested and I fought off my husband and munchkin from tearing into the crispy skin on the chicken, I toasted up some fresh tortillas, sliced up a ton of limes and tore of a nice fresh handful of cilantro.
My Baked Tequila Lime Chicken is not only super easy but is loaded with flavor and bursting with juices! Plus while it is marinade recommended it is not necessary making this chicken the perfect quick dinner meal!
1/2 cup gold tequila1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (5 to 6 limes)1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (2 oranges)1 tablespoon chili powder1 tablespoon minced fresh jalapeno pepper (1 pepper seeded)1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic (3 cloves)2 teaspoons kosher salt1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper3 whole (6 split) boneless chicken breasts, skin on*Combine the tequila, lime juice, orange juice, chili powder, jalapeno pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add the chicken breasts. Refrigerate overnight.
I made this last night and it was amazing! I made a few little changes that gave it a lot of flavor. I actually baked the chicken in the marinade for 25 minutes at 400. Then I took it out and drained it, added some shredded monteray jack and crushed tortilla chips to the top, and put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes. The chicken was really tender and juicy, and it really absorbed the lime flavor!
Ok, I loved the chicken! However, I was a complete space case while shopping, and when my husband decided to be sweet and do the marinade I realized I had forgotten the oranges and was a lime short. We worked it out with some lemon, some Grand Marnier and a touch of simple.
made this as a side dish for mozzarella-filled potato schnitzels. super yummy and fairly easy. Tweaked the dressing with some agave syrup, which gave it a lovely something extra. thanks for the recipe!
